Current license usage... exceeds the license capacity vSphere 5.x

Issue: Increase the vRam from 256gb to 512gb. Upgrade the vCenter, ESXi from 5.0 to 5.0 U2. error comes out saying current license usage for vSphere 5 Enterprise Plus exceeds the license capacity. The licensing model used by the company has always been vCPU based not memory based model.

New Status: Red

Alarm Definition:
([Event alarm expression: License Capacity Exceeded; Status = Red])
Event details:
The current license usage (4196.7 GB vRAM) for VMware vSphere 5 Enterprise Plus exceeds the license capacity (4.1 GB vRAM)
There was a vRAM limitation of 96GB per host in ESX 5.0 in the past.
But this limitation was removed from Vmware later and should not exist anymore:

Resolution: As per VMware this message can be ignored/neglected and the same alarm should be disabled.
